Appointed Times
Effective 23 October 2026. This policy covers the Appointed Times app on Android, iOS and Windows, published by Adapptive Co.
The short version
Appointed Times keeps everything on your device. There's no account, no advertising and no analytics, and the app doesn't send your information to us or to anyone else.
What the app stores on your device
- Your settings: which appointed times you follow, their alarms and sounds, your theme, and how you count the omer.
- Your location, if you choose to set one. You can tap “Use my current location” or type coordinates in. The app saves the latitude and longitude, rounding a location it finds to about 10 metres. It uses them only to work out the local sunset time on your device. You can clear your location in Settings at any time.
- A list of the alarms it has scheduled, so it can update them when your settings change.
This information never leaves your device through the app. Uninstalling the app deletes it, apart from any copy in your device backups (see below).
Permissions
- Location (optional): asked for only when you tap “Use my current location”, to find your local sunset. On Android 12 and later you can choose approximate location, which is all the app needs.
- Notifications and alarms: to ring alarms and show reminders before each appointed time, including when the app is closed and after your device restarts.
- Vibration and keeping the device awake: so an alarm can vibrate and keep ringing until you stop it.
Backups
Your device may include the app's settings in its own backups, such as Google's Android backup or an iCloud or device backup on iPhone. That can include a location you've saved. These backups are handled by Google or Apple under their privacy policies, not by us. You can turn them off in your device settings.
Tips
You can choose to leave a tip through Google Play, the App Store or the Microsoft Store. The store handles the payment and tells the app only whether it went through. We never see your card or payment details. On Android, Google's billing library may send Google diagnostic information about the purchase. Each store's own privacy policy covers what it collects.
Children
The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this policy and its effective date before that version of the app is released.
